Uganda Premier League side Lugazi FC has confirmed captain Richard Ayiko’s contract extension at Lugazi FC.
The development was confirmed on Monday, July 20, 2026, via the club’s official website.
“Following the expiry of his (Richard Ayiko) contract at the end of last season, we are now excited to announce that team captain Richard Ayiko has signed a new two-year contract,” the statement partly reads.
In the previous campaign, evergreen Ayiko played 26 games and managed to score only one goal. However, his leadership and loyalty to Lugazi make him an outstanding player.
According to the club, Ayiko’s performance was instrumental in the club’s promotion to the top-flight two years ago. His leadership has ensured that the team stays afloat in the Uganda Premier League.
