Slimane Raho has returned to TP Mazembe, taking the reins as the club’s new head coach.
The ex-Algerian international served as assistant coach at the Congolese giants during the 2021/22 season under Franck Dumas, and now takes over from Lamine Mamadou Ndiaye.
Under Dumas, Raho was a part of JS Kabylie’s runner-up finish in the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1 in 2019 before helping CR Belouizdad claim the title the following season.
The club confirmed an amicable split with Ndiaye, who participated in a formal handover process with the incoming coach.
“The club is delighted to welcome this new architect of Mazembe’s play, unanimously recognized for his human and technical qualities, and renowned for his ability to develop the best talent,” said a statement released by the club.
TP Mazambe failed to qualify for continental competition for the 2025/26 season, but are poised to make a return, currently sitting second in the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s domestic league. They are three points behind league leaders Saint-Éloi Lupopo with a game in hand.
