2026 FIFA World Cup (Round of 32):
Canada became the first country to qualify for the round of 16 at the on-going 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Co-hosts for the 2026 edition, Canada needed a 92nd minute strike from Stephen Antunes Eustaquio to win the closely contested round of 32 duel against South Africa at the Los Angeles stadium.
The Los Angeles midfielder, on loan from Porto beat Ronwen Williams from 25 yards to spark wild celebrations.
Canada will play their round of 16 game in Houston on 4th July 2026 against either Netherlands or Morocco.
The round of 32 matches continue as five time record world champions Brazil take on Japan in Houston on Monday, 29th June 2026.
