Preparations are already in high gear to have a successful AFCON 2027 in East Africa which will be the first championship to be co-hosted by three countries in the history of the competition that has been played since 1957.
After the curtains officially winded down at the 2025 AFCON tournament hosted by Morocco, all the eyes are on the East Africa prior to the upcoming 2027 PAMOJA Afcon championship.
The president of Confederation of African Football (CAF) Dr Patrice Motsepe officially handed over the CAF flag to East Africa.
The representatives from Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda received the CAF flag at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat city moments after the explosive finale between hosts Morocco and Senegal.
Uganda was ably represented by the state minister for sports Hon. Peter Ogwang and Eng. Moses Magogo, the president of Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) on the podium.
They were joined by officials from Kenya and Tanzania a few moments before the prize presentation ceremony.
Uganda’s delegation at large in Morocco also had the chairman for the National Council of Sports (NCS) Ambrose Tashobya, the General Secretary of NCS Dr Bernard Patrick Ogwel and other members of the AFCON Local Organizing Committee.

The three countries have intensified their readiness for the games with sports infrastructure amenities (stadia, training venues, administrative units), hotels and other accommodation facilities, air and road transport system and others.
