Nam Blazers secured a well-deserved 110-64 victory against Kampala Rockets in the National Basketball League encounter at Abja Park, Nalya on Wednesday.
It was a great day in office for Odong, who set a new NBL record with 15 three-point successful attempts in the outstanding victory.
He also poured in a record-breaking 53 points, the highest individual points tally ever recorded in a single NBL game.
The Blazers completed a double-double with 14 rebounds, capping off a day to remember in his long basketball career.
In the opening frame, Kampala Rockets put up a great challenge as Francis Kasinde’s 3-point jump shot concluded the period as they trailed by a point (24-23).
Odong dropped four long shots beyond the paint as the on-form Blazers extended their lead to 17 points (55-38) going to the long break.
Coming from the halftime break, the Blazers kept the foot on the gas pedal as they maintained a quick transitional game, thus extending the lead to 31 points going into the final frame.
In the final frame, the Rockets were limited to only nine points as the Blazers walked away with a dominant victory.
Nyemeck Kevin completed a personal double-double, dropping 12 points and pulling down 15 rebounds while Kasereka Tembo added 15 points.
On the other hand, Francis Kasinde managed a double-double, pouring in 21 points and making 13 rebounds while Gideon Kasasa added 17 points for the Rockets.
