Odongo gave NEC the lead with a sixth minute powerful header off Hakim Wandera’s inviting corner kick.

Two minutes later, Ssekamatte who transferred from UPDF during the secondary players’ transfer period buried home Emmanuel Kulanga’s delivery as the hosts extended their lead.

The second half did not produce any goal for the two sides as NEC, losing finalists in 2023 to Kitara marched to the last eight stage.

Simon Peter Mugerwa’s coached Lugazi continues with the challenges in this season having had a sloppy start in the league and now elimination in the FA cup.

Meanwhile, KCCA will face Onduparaka on Tuesday night during another round of 16 duel at the MTN Omondi stadium.

The successful clubs will progress to the quarter final stage ahead of the draw that will be supervised by the FUFA Competitions department.
