Morocco international Hamza Igamane has undergone knee surgery after suffering a torn Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL).

The OSC Lille striker sustained the injury during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final against Senegal in Rabat on January 18.

Igamane will be out of action for several months, which rules him out of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in USA, Canada and Mexico.

On Wednesday, the 23-year-old announced via Instagram that he successfully underwent surgery.

The former AS FAR Rabat and Rangers star has netted twice in 10 matches for Morocco, with both goals coming during the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The Atlas Lions’ World Cup Group C campaign will see them face Scotland, Haiti and Brazil in June.
