As the Round of 16 at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations gathers steam, the likes of Morocco and South Africa will be under the spotlight in Sunday’s list of fixtures.
Tournament hosts Morocco were among the top performing sides during the Group stages as they finished first in Group A without a loss.
En-route to qualifying for the Round of 16, Morocco claimed wins over Comoros and Zambia, while they jotted down a 1-1 draw with Mali in Matchday two.
As for South Africa, Hugo Broos and his charges finished second in Group B, one point behind table toppers Egypt.
Bafana Bafana commenced their tournament with a 2-1 win over Angola on matchday one, before suffering a slender 1-0 loss against Egypt in their second group fixture. South Africa then secured second in Group B following a gutsy 3-2 victory against Zimbabwe in matchday three.
Nonetheless, Morocco will now take on Tanzania at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, while South Africa will do battle with Cameroon at the Agdal Medina Stadium as the AFCON Round of 16 takes centre stage.
