Manchester City and Egypt star Omar Marmoush recently expressed his elation at the Citizens reaching the final of the Carabao Cup following their 5-1 aggregate win over Newcastle at the Etihad on Wednesday night.
While City went into the second-leg with a 2-0 advantage, Marmoush ended the game with a brace to his name with Tijjani Reijnders getting his name on the scoresheet as well.
Reflecting on the result, Marmoush mentioned that City showcased their winning mentality and that he is excited at the prospect of winning silverware this season.
“For sure, from the first minute of the game we were very focused,” Marmoush told City Studios.
“We showed our mentality and our passion to win the game. We’re very happy that we did that.
“I’m very, very excited. It’s the best feeling to reach a final. We would like to reach every final we can reach. We’re very happy to be there.
“Now focus on the next games and hopefully we can win the final.”
