Forward Anita Namata has joined FUFA Women Super League Champions Kawempe Muslim Ladies for her third stint. The club confirmed her return on Tuesday, after putting pen to paper on a tow-year contract.
“We are delighted to announce the signing of Anita Namata from Kenya’s club Vihiga Queens. The forward agreed to a deal that will run until 2028.” Confirmed the club.
The diminutive forward first played for Kawempe Muslim during the 2016 season before moving to Uganda Martyrs Lubaga for the next season. She would later return to Kawempe for the 2017/18 season.
Since then, Namata also returned to Uganda Martyrs Lubaga for a second stint moved to Vihiga Queens where she also played in two different spells, played for She Corporate and Kampala Queens.
Her arrival brings wealth of experience to a young Kawempe Muslim side as they prepare to play at the forthcoming CECAFA Regional Qualifiers to CAF Women’s Champions League.
Kawempe Muslim is placed in Group B alongside CBE (Ethiopia) and FC UJECO from Djibouti. The tournament is expected to run between 21st-31st August in Kigali, Rwanda.
