The Uganda Table Tennis Association (UTTA) is leaving nothing to chance as it prepares for the 2026 season.
In a significant display of unity and forward-planning, the UTTA Executive Technical Team recently met with 30 coaches from across the nation for a high-stakes strategic engagement at Grand Maria School (GMS) in Nabbingo.
The meeting wasn’t just a routine check-in, it was a blueprinting session designed to align the sport’s priorities from the grassroots level to the elite national stage.
A unified vision for growth
With 30 coaching minds in the room, the discussion pivoted on how to turn strategic goals into podium finishes.
The primary focus remained on shaping the 2026 season programs, ensuring that every tournament, training camp, and development clinic serves a larger purpose which is the advancement of table tennis in Uganda.
”The discussions and contributions provided valuable input toward the growth and development of the sport,” Cyrus Mark Muwanga, UTTA President stated.
“This engagement marks a strategic step forward as we look to implement these priorities in the season ahead.”

While the specific calendar is yet to be fully unveiled, the takeaway from the engagement is clear: Alignment.
By bringing the coaches, the ones on the front lines of player development into the executive planning phase, UTTA is ensuring that the 2026 programs are practical, ambitious, and widely supported.
