FIFA has released its latest men’s world rankings after the March 2026 international break.
Morocco remained Africa’s top team, holding firm at 8th in the world with 1755.87 points. Senegal follow in second (14th globally), while Nigeria sit third at 26th.
Algeria (28th), Egypt (29th), and reigning AFCON champions Ivory Coast (34th) complete a strong top five for the continent.
Tunisia (44th), Cameroon (45th), DR Congo (46th), and Mali (52nd) round out Africa’s top 10.
The biggest talking point is Ghana’s drop to 74th in the world, highlighting their recent struggles.
While Morocco continue to lead with authority, the rankings show both stability and shifting fortunes across African football as teams prepare for the 2026 World Cup.
Africa’s 10 representatives at the 2026 World Cup are: Morocco, Senegal, Algeria, Egypt, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Tunisia, Cape Verde, South Africa, and DR Congo.
