Updates:
Full-time – Gabon 2 (Kanga 11′, Bouanga 21′) Ivory Coast 3 (Krasso 44′, Guessand 84′, Toure 90+2′). The Elephants left it late but they claim victory over the Panthers to secure top spot in Group F on goals scored ahead of cameroon, while Mozambique advance to the round of 16 as the best-ranked third-placed team.
90+5’ – Full time. Mozambique 1-2 Cameroon. The Indomitable Lions claim the win in Agadir but it’s not enough to secure top spot in Group F thanks to Ivory Coast’s come-from-behind win in Marrakesh. The Central Africans finish second and will face South Africa in the last 16 in Rabat on Sunday.
The Mambas finish third in the group and advance into the knockout stage for the first time ever. They will face Nigeria next Monday in Fez.
90+2′ ‘ – Goal! Gabon 2-3 Ivory Coast. Bazoumana Toure completes the turnaround for the Elephants as he heads the ball back across the goal into the far corner from Operi’s cross.
90+1’ – There will be four minutes of added time.
87’ – Closing in on full time. Cameroon look set for top spot in Group F, but it could be taken away from them by Ivory Coast in the other match in Marrakesh.
84′ – Goal! Gabon 2-2 Ivory Coast. Finally some action to talk about in the second half as Evann Guessand steers a header into the bottom right corner of the net from a corner.
79′ – Ivory Coast have a free-kick in a promising position on the right and Amad Diallo gets the ball over the wall, but also over the crossbar.
78’ – Karl Etta Eyong with what will surely be the miss of the tournament… he is set up with a tap-in, with the net beckoning, but miscues his shot completely!
74’ – Manuel Kambala with a shooting chance for the Mambas, but he balloons an effort over the target.
69′ – Jean Michael Seri takes aim from a long way out, but he’s not troubling Bekale with that shot which sails well over the crossbar.
66′ – Diakite makes a clumsy challenge on Mario Lemina and is playing with fire, having already been booked earlier in the second half, but the referee decides to be lenient. The Cercle Brugge striker would have missed the next match had he been sent off.
65’ – Almost midway through the second half, Cameroon remain in control, though Mozambique have thrown on the likes of Alex Melque and Chamito to try and turn the game around.
60′ – An hour gone in Marrakesh and it’s been a quiet start to the second half, with Ivory Coast continuing to enjoy the lion’s share of the possession, but not managing to create any chances.
55’ – GOAL! Mozambique 1-2 Cameroon. The Indomitable Lions claim the lead via a thunderous drive from Christian Kofane! He cracks home a shot, via the underside of the crossbar, from just outside the penalty area!
46′ – Ivory Coast get the ball rolling in the second half.
47’ – Cameroon have made a double change, with Bryan Mbeumo and Carlos Baleba withdrawn in favour of Christian Bassogog and Karl Etta Eyong.
46’ – Back underway in Agadir between the Mambas and the Indomitable Lions.
44′ – Goal! Gabon 2-1 Ivory Coast. The Elephants are given a lifeline in the match after Zaha finds Jean-Philippe Krasso inside the box with a square pass and the Paris FC striker makes no mistake from inside the six-yard box.
42′ – Wilfried Zaha has the goal at his mercy but directs his shot straight at Francois Bekale. Wasted opportunity for Ivory Coast!
42’ – A major blow for Cameroon, as captain and key defender Nouhou Tolo is replaced by Christopher Wooh due to injury.
36′ – Christ Inao Oulai finds himself in space 30 yards out and tries his luck from range. It’s well-struck effort but sails inches wide of the left post.
38’ – Christian Kofane rounds the goalkeeper and steers a shot into the empty net, but the offside flag is up. No goal.
32′ – Kessie surges forward and releases Oumar Diakite inside the box. The Cercle Brugge forward gets a shot away at the second attempt and can only find the outside of the right post.
28’ – GOAL! Mozambique 1-1 Cameroon. The Indomitable Lions hit back via calamitous own goal from Nene, who was looking to clear the ball under pressure after a goal mouth scramble, but only succeeded in sending it into his own net.
21′ – Goal! Gabon 2-0 Ivory Coast. The defending champions concede again following poor defending as Denis Bouanga receives the ball on the edge of the area and fires home into the bottom right corner of the net past the out-stretched hand of Lafont.
23’ – GOAL! Mozambique 1-0 Cameroon. The Mambas claim the lead in Agadir via a brilliant goal from Geny Catamo. The no.10 strikes a dipping curler with the left foot from just outside the penalty area, beating goalkeeper Devis Epassy’s right hand.
19-‘ Wilfried Zaha goes down inside the box after being tripped up by Teddy Averlant and the referee points to the spot, but then changes his mind when the assistant raises his flag for offside.
16’ – Bryan Mbeumo sends Christian Kofane in on goal, but Mozambique goalkeeper Ivane Urrubal makes a brave save.
13’ – Kessie gets on the end of a cross, but can’t direct his header on target as the ball goes wide of the post.
15’ – Mozambique with an early change, as the injured Diogo Calila makes way for Bruno Langa.
11′ – Goal! Gabon 1-0 Ivory Coast. The Panthers take a shock lead as Alban Lafont spills the ball from a low delivery into the box and Guelor Kanga has the simple task of slotting home from close range.
8′ – Ivory Coast win the first corner of the game which comes out to Franck Kessie, whose shot is deflected behind off Didier Ndong for another corner, although that one comes to nothing.
8’ – A spell of attacking pressure from Mozambique, inspired by the skills and vision of 42-year-old Elias Pelembe, also known as Domingues.
1′ – Gabon get proceedings underway at the Marrakesh Stadium.

What the managers said:
Gabon head coach Thierry Mouyouma: “Despite the disappointment, the team is ready. We are competitors. We have one last match to play against Cote d’Ivoire, the reigning African champions.
“It is a special match because it will be our final game of this competition. We want to finish well, especially against an opponent who will be playing for first place in the group.”
Ivory Coast head coach Emerse Fae: “Because we are Cote d’Ivoire, expectations are high. Our supporters expect us to win, and that responsibility is part of our role.
“We will play this match as if we were not yet qualified. There will be no calculations. We will simply play to win.”
Gabon will be playing for pride as their elimination from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations has already been confirmed after losing their opening two games. The Panthers suffered a 3-2 defeat to the Mambas on December 28 which means they cannot finish above Chiquinho Conde’s side even if they manage to beat the defending champions tonight.
Ivory Coast have made an unbeaten start to their title defence, but the goals haven’t quite flowed yet after they edged Mozambique 1-0 on December 24 before playing out to a 1-1 draw with Cameroon four days later. Goals could well decide who finishes top of Group F as the Elephants have an identical record to the Indomitable Lions after two matches in Morocco.

This match will be played simultaneously to the other Group F fixture, pitting Gabon against Ivory Coast in Rabat.
All three of the Elephants, the Indomitable Lions and the Mambas (for the first time in their history) are already assured of progression into the round of 16, but the results of this evening’s matches will determine their placing and match-ups for the next round.
Full-time: Sudan 0-2 Burkina Faso – The Stallions claim a vital 2-0 win over Sudan in Group E as they progress to the AFCON Round of 16.
The Fennecs will return to the Stade Moulay Hassan on 6 January to face the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the round of 16.
Full time: Equatorial Guinea 1-3 Algeria. The Fennecs join Nigeria as the only two teams to manage a perfect record through the group stage. Equatorial Guinea are headed home with no points to show for their effort.

75’ – Burkina Faso continue venture forward, this time with Georgi Minoungou, whose right-footed shot goes slightly wide following a fast break.
63’ Chaïbi misses an opportunity for a second goal, striking the crossbar from close range after a through-ball from Mehdi Dorval.
60’ – With the hour mark gone, Algeria have resumed control of the game, dominating possession,
60’ – The hour-mark has passed between Sudan and Burkina Faso in Casablanca as the Stallions remain in control of the match.
50’ – Burkina Faso starting the second 45 just as they ended the first, on the attack while Sudan sit deep into their own area.
49’ – Half-time: Equatorial Guinea 0-3 Algeria. The Fennecs dominated the first half, showing complete control. The National Thunder will need a stern team-talk and plenty of grit to fight their way back into the fixture.
47’ – Owono denies Algeria a fourth goal before the end of the first period, stopping Mounsef Bakrar’s effort from the edge of the six-yard box with a super-save in stoppage time.

30’ – Burkina Faso controlling matters at the Mohammed V Stadium while Sudan sit back in soaking up the pressure following the midway point of the first 45.
25’ – GOAL! Equatorial Guinea 0-2 Algeria. Farès Chaïbi doubles Algeria’s lead, capitalising on a beautiful through-ball from Ibrahim Maza to find the top left corner from inside the area.
23’ – Penalty to Sudan! Al Gozoli Nooh draws a foul inside the area, however, the Falcons of Jediane star misses from the spot!
21’ – The Fennecs miss a chance to double their lead. Hadj-Moussa picks out the well timed run of Farès Chaïbi in the box, but he cannot poke the ball past Jesus Owono, putting his effort over the bar.
19’ – GOAL! Algeria opens the scoring through Zinéddine Belaïd who heads home Hadj-Moussa’s corner, rising above the defence of Equatorial Guinea to put the Fennecs ahead.
15’ – Goal! Burkina Faso take the lead following a clinical move in transition. With Sudan caught in possession on the edge of their area, Lassina Traoré finds the back of the net following a looping cross inside the area.
10’ – Still goalless between Sudan and Burkina Faso, however, the Falcons of Jediane push on in search of an opener.
11’ The first chance of the game goes Algeria’s way. Anis Hadj Moussa’s free kick is delivered towards the back post but no Algerian players are able to get on the end of it.

The two sides have met on three previous occasions with the results split evenly; one win, one loss, and one draw for both sides. They met in group E at the 2021 AFCON, with Equatorial Guinea claiming a 1-0 win.
Algeria claimed two victories and six points from its first two group games, ensuring its passage through to the round of 16. Equatorial Guinea lost both of its encounters at this year’s edition and will be attempting to get something on the board before heading home.
With the fates of both teams already decided, Algeria and Equatorial Guinea will be playing for pride at the Stade Moulay Hassan in Rabat.
The Falcons of Jediane and The Stallions are fighting for second spot in Group E and ultimately, a place in the competition’s Round of 16.
